Royersford, PA (PRWEB) February 4, 2006
IRON MAIDEN has confirmed the release date for their much anticipated DVD release Death on the road February 21, 2006 at Sanctuary Records. This will initially be available in limited edition special digipack.
The package contains all the DVD
performance of their dance? Tour of death? in December 2003. Filmed at the arena Westenfalenhalle in Dortmund the show has been personally edited by founding group member Steve Harris to fully capture the magnificent stage and cut to the heart and the electricity of the band? S performance. On a four-month period Steve made thousands of changes ensuring that he was personally happy with every single shot included.
“We are aware that fans have been made to wait a little longer than expected for the DVD to come out, but they know we will not settle for anything but the best time and the extra and efforts devoted to the final production of this DVD should be obvious. I can say that when people see songs like “Passchendaele” and “Dance Of Death ‘their jaws will hit the floor as mine did when I saw the final product on my TV at home. With visuals as this and the show played in 5.1 on a decent system, it is just like being in the forefront of the show? said Mr. Harris.
ensure the highest quality and to avoid any compromise in reproducing the best possible sound and picture quality, the band took the unprecedented step of making the full concert available on three separate drives, including tape- Traditional full stereo sound and specially mixed 5.1 sound by Kevin “Caveman” Shirley, with a special disc features, making all three discs in all.
“I felt it was important that this was done because we did not want to be restricted. By having two separate drives I was pleased to know that no picture or sound quality would be compromised in any way. We are aware that many fans do not have access to its 5.1 and stereo, but still use if you put two beds audio on a single disc with the concert a good amount of visual quality can be lost due to the enormous amount of information that must be stored. As this was quite a show dark theater we refused to allow this to happen! However, so that our fans do not pay extra for a disc they may never use, we arranged with Sanctuary that the price will be the same? Rock in Rio? which was a set of two discs. This way everyone gets the show with high quality sound that is fully compatible with their system at no additional cost,? said Harris.
special features disc contains an exclusive documentary directed by Matthew Amos who also directed the band? s award-winning? Early Days? documentary. This is an overview of the production of dance? Death? the album’s writing and recording in every detail of what it takes to get a massive show like Maiden on the road .????
“The documentary is something quite special for the fans because it is really a very revealing portrait of how Maiden work together during recording, and it took me weeks to convince them to let cameras in the recording studio. Previously, they had never allowed it all to be filmed, but this time we decided to have a camera floating around trying to capture the Maiden recording process. Many of them was filmed by Kevin Shirley and the band themselves,? Rod Smallwood, Iron Maiden? s manager, said.? I think it’s a great representation of the talent, effort and humor of a Maiden recording session. The documentary also shows what it takes to build a world tour and various interviews with our Killer Krew and hopefully it will be as insightful and interesting as well received? Early Days? documentary footage which Matthew also directed .?????????????????????????????? ??
? As usual we have crammed as much as possible in the DVD with a host of extras, including all the promo videos from the album, background interviews with members of the production team and the fans in the tour, artwork, design sketches and photo galleries. Many hours of chaos Maiden with a total of more than three hours? and only the particular characteristics? Smallwood said.
The group is taking a well deserved break after their successful tour schedule for the past year, having headlined almost every major festivals in Europe including Reading and Leeds in the UK, as well as taking the United States by storm in the last years Ozzfest bill. Preparations for the next studio album (their 14th) will start in February with recording starts in the spring of 2006.
